ANSI 207 PUBLIC SAFETY VEST STANDARD ISSUED
Monday, December 11, 2006

Respondersafety.com has learned that the long awaited ANSI 207 Public Safety Vest Standard was released December 8, 2006. The final document contains the optional provision to allow for break-a-way seams and closures. This means that the vests labled as ANSI 207 compliant may have break-a-way features on the 2 shoulder seams, two sides and in the front for a total of 5 break-a-way points. The Emergency Responder Safety Institute urges buyers to specify five but no less that a 4 point break-a-way(all except the front closure)when ordering the Public Safety Vests. We continue to work with variouos vest manufactures to encourage break-a-ways and we will soon have various samples of the new vests on display on this web site.
