California: Deputy Hit and Killed by Driver in Ventura County Mourned
Friends and family have gathered to mourn a Ventura County sheriff's deputy who was killed by an alleged hit-and-run driver. A flag-covered casket carried the body of Sgt. Eugene Kostiuchenko into a church in Westlake Village for his funeral on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old father of two was struck by a car last week in Camarillo as he walked back to his patrol car near a freeway on-ramp after stopping another motorist.
