Maryland: Reisterstown Man Accused of Driving 145 mph on I-95 in Harford

A Reisterstown man accused of driving as fast as 145 mph while drunk early Monday on I-95 in Harford County was ordered held without bail. Anthony Michael Muniz, 34, of the 300 block of Timber Grove Road, allegedly sped up from 86 to 145 mph in his 2014 Chevrolet Camaro after a Maryland State Police trooper tried to pull him over, according to charging documents. Muniz was headed south at about 12:48 a.m. when he passed a trooper wrapping up another traffic stop in the Joppa area, according to the documents. Muniz is also a volunteer fireman.

After the trooper smelled alcohol on Muniz's breath, Muniz, who allegedly had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, said he was driving home from a bar where he had had two beers, according to the statement.
