Ohio Officer Struck By Vehicle in Lake County

A police officer was struck by a vehicle Monday morning while on scene with a disabled car in Lake County. The incident occurred around 7:15 a.m. when two Kirtland Hills officers in marked police cars were assisting a disabled vehicle on Chillicothe Road and were trying to help the vehicle re-enter the roadway. A car operated by Herbert Matthews III of Willoughby Hills was traveling northeast on Chillicothe Road and struck an officer directing traffic.
