Oklahoma: Limestone Apparatus Struck on Highway-Firefighter Critically Injured

A Firefighter with the Limestone Fire Department in Owasso, Oklahoma was struck yesterday and is now reported to be in critical condition.The 43-year old Firefighter had been operating at a collision on a 5-lane highway (Highway 20), The conditions were a straight roadway, clear weather and little reason for them to not be seen, The Firefighter was getting back into the squad - which was being used for traffic control, when the squad was struck by a dually pickup at high speed. The Firefighter is in critical condition in St Johns Hospital in Tulsa. The hit was so hard that the fire vehicle has a bent frame, and may be totaled.

The driver of the civilian vehicle had no license and expired tags.
