A Clinton County fire police officer was struck and killed Friday while working to control traffic around the scene of a crash that seriously injured an area man on Lusk Run Road, about two miles from Central Mountain High School.
State police in Lamar said Donald G. Mellot, 62, of Flemington was struck in the road's eastbound lane about 1:30 p.m. by a car driven by Harold L. Moore Jr., 72, of Beech Creek.
