I-80 pileup victims still stranded in Cheyenne-Good TIM Practices Help Alleviate More Problems

CHEYENNE WY April 6 2015. An ongoing spring storm and crash cleanup efforts kept a large portion of Interstate 80 closed Friday following a series of pileups that injured 27 people Thursday. With all the bad news there was a bright spot. Good news is there were no fatalities and that the agency’s initiatives made a positive difference: 1) 20 minutes before the first accident WYDOT’s TMC lowered the variable speed limits to 45mph, and 2) due to the size of the accident the response involved many agencies who cited TIM training as the reason they were able to work so well together as reported by Joe Dailey- Administrator  FHWA Wyoming Division.
