MARYLAND: CAR PASSING FIRE TRUCK HITS AMBULANCE, 2 INJURED

Two people, including a police officer, were injured in a series of crashes Tuesday afternoon near Hampton, Baltimore County police said.

County police said a tow truck and a passenger car were involved in a crash around noon at Dulaney Valley Road and East Seminary Avenue. Police said an ambulance responding to the scene was struck by a vehicle that was trying to pass a fire truck.

Police said the driver of the vehicle that tried to pass the fire truck was arrested at the scene. It was not immediately specified why.

Sometime later, a Baltimore County police officer responded to the accident scene to provide traffic control and had shut down the intersection when a vehicle struck the police vehicle the officer was sitting in.
