Massachusetts: FIREFIGHTER STRUCK AT CRASH SCENE – SIGNIFICANT INJURIES

A firefighter working a traffic incident Friday evening sustained significant injuries after being struck by a vehicle that did not stop, authorities said. The Onset Fire Department said the crash happened on Cranberry Highway near Onset Avenue around 7 p.m. Friday.

Fire officials said while the firefighter was working on the traffic incident, he was struck by a passing motor vehicle which continued on and did not stop. The incident occurred during the height of the nor’easter that brought flooding rain and hurricane force winds.

Officials said the firefighter sustained significant injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. His condition was not disclosed.
