New Jersey: Suspect hit Vineland officer with vehicle

Police, responding to a suspicious vehicle call, arrested a city man who allegedly struck a police officer and police cruiser with his vehicle before he was tracked down by a K-9 team after fleeing the area on foot. Anthony Aponte, 31, of West Sherman Avenue, was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, two counts of aggravated assault, eluding with injury, resisting arrest by force, resisting arrest by flight and a weapons offense.
