South Dakota: Tow truck operator hurt in interstate crash

A tow truck operator was hurt when he was hit by a driver Tuesday on Interstate 29 near Beresford.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol said the driver of a Chevy Colorado pickup struck the side of the flatbed tow truck while the man was recovering a broken down boat on a trailer along the side of the interstate.

The tow truck operator was on the flat bed when the collision occurred. He received serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital.

The driver of the Chevy pickup was cited for failure to move over.
