Wisconsin: Firefighter Struck by Car

Monday, February 05, 2018

A Delton (Lake Delton, Wisconsin, north of Madison near The Dells) Firefighter was struck by a motorist who had lost control of their vehicle on the shoulder of Interstate 90/94 around 0800 today. The Delton Fire Department initially responded to a three vehicle crash on the westbound lanes. As part of the fire department apparatus response, one fire truck responded east of the crash scene to give warning to oncoming motorists of the crash scene ahead.

Initial reports are that a Firefighter was standing outside of the fire truck that was parked on the shoulder of the road with emergency lights flashing when the incident occurred. The Firefighter sustained injuries and was transported and is now stable.
