Wisconsin: Person of interest arrested after officer struck by car

Police are investigating after an officer was hit by a car near 32nd and Villard Ave.

Just before 2:00 a.m. Saturday, two officers patrolling the area on foot noticed a man sitting in a car with a gun inside. When they tried approaching the man, he drove toward one of the officers, slightly striking him. The second officer shot at the driver as he fled the scene. Police pursued the driver, until they lost sight of the car. The car was found a short time later near 91st and Bradley Road, where a man was arrested as a person of interest. The officer struck by the car did not require medical attention. Police are trying to determine if anyone in the car was injured
