    Jill Rose, the driver suspected of striking and killing a tow truck driver in Malibu on Feb. 11, is expected to surrender to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Dept. this week, according to Sgt. Phil Brooks of the Malibu/Lost Hills station.

  • Crash On Missouri Interstate Involved Mt. Vernon Fire Truck

    There was a crash Monday afternoon on Interstate 44 between a fire truck and another truck. That fire truck was from the Mt. Vernon Fire Department and Driven by Melvin Ownes. He escaped with minor injuries.

  • Florida: 18-Year-Old Accused of DUI, Hitting Trooper's Car

    A Florida Highway Patrol trooper, injured by a passing car, was able to get back into his cruiser and track down the driver of that car. The trooper's car door was jammed from impact, so he climbed into the cruiser through the window and began a pursuit. The trooper said that, when the driver of that car refused to pull over, he employed a maneuver to stop the car. The drivcer was placed under arrest and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and DUI property damage.   • 16th Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Hit in 2013

    Another Utah Highway Patrol trooper was hit on the freeway Saturday February 23, 2013. Just before 1 p.m., two troopers responded to a crash on Interstate 15 in Ogden. According to UHP, while troopers were providing traffic control around the crash, a Ford Escape veered toward the troopers, travelling between 50 and 60 miles per hour.   • Man Charged for Allegedly Hitting Michigan Officer with Car in Burger King Parking Lot

    Pittsfield Township Lt. Sean McCormick suffered minor injuries after he was struck by the vehicle, Schick said. He said the lieutenant was transported to the hospital for treatment and released later the same day, and he has since recovered.

  • Utah Highway Patrol Trooper’s Cruiser Hit on I-15 in Orem

    For the 15th time this year, a Utah Highway Patrol trooper investigating an accident scene ended up as part of a crash during Friday morning’s snow-clogged commute. UHP Cpl. Todd Johnson said that this time the trooper was not hurt when an out-of-control Honda Accord scraped his cruiser before slamming head-on into a Ford Ranger that had been involved in an earlier accident the trooper was investigating.

  • Vermont Firefighter Hurt in Leap to Safety

    A Windsor firefighter who jumped off an Interstate 91 overpass to avoid an out-of-control tractor-trailer truck was recovering from injuries yesterday, officials said. Molly Wood, a four-year member of the fire department, came away from the estimated 25- to 30-foot drop with a concussion, cuts and bruises and a likely broken ankle.
