  • Colorado: Englewood Police Officer Hit by Suspected Drunk Driver

    An Englewood Police officer was hit by a suspected drunk driver late Thursday night. Englewood Police said the officer had pulled over a driver on Hampden Avenue, near University Blvd., just before midnight. The officer had walked back to her patrol car and was sitting inside, processing information, when her car was rear-ended by another vehicle. Cherry Hills Police arrested the suspected drunk driver.   • Indiana: Trooper Injured in I-69 Struck-By Incident

    State Police Master Trooper Trent Kiefer was in his police car in the southbound lanes of the freeway with his lights on to let drivers know about upcoming traffic congestion, according to the state police. As he sat stopped, the southbound box truck driven by Derek Lightle of Sheridan sideswiped Kiefer’s car, hit a Cadillac driven by Tammie Bell of Fort Wayne and sent it into the median, before the box truck hit a semi, police said

  • Illinois: Man Charged With DUI After Hiting Police SUV

    A Fairview Heights man was charged with DUI after slamming his car into a Caseyville police SUV on Route 157 Monday morning.

  • Indiana: Deputy Hit by Car After Chase on Highway 72 in Loudon Co.

    Loudon County Sheriff Tim Guider says a suspect is in custody following pursuit of a stolen vehicle on Highway 72 in Loudon County. Guider says deputies were chasing a stolen vehicle on I-75. OnStar slowed the vehicle as the driver got off the Interstate at exit 72 on I-75. The suspect then carjacked another vehicle in a gas station parking lot, rammed another vehicle and hit a deputy as he fled.

  • Massachusetts: Weymouth Officer Struck by Vehicle

    A Weymouth police officer was taken to the hospital after being struck by a car early Saturday morning. Police tell NewsCenter 5 the incident happened on Main Street around 12:30 a.m.

  • Montana: Highway Flagger Struck by Truck

    A Billings man is recovering after he was struck while directing highway traffic near Roundup. Brock Steingruber, 23, was hit by a Chevrolet S10 crew cab pickup Aug. 15, according to the Montana Highway Patrol. The crash happened around 6 a.m. in the southbound lane on Highway 87 near mile marker 28.

  • Wisconsin: Driver Takes Off After Hitting Marquette Student and Nearly Striking Squad

    A Marquette student was hit by a car early Saturday morning around 2:30 a.m., August 23rd. A sheriff’s squad car was nearly hit shortly after near the Marquette campus.

  • Maryland Highway Worker Struck and Killed

    A contracted highway worker for the State Highway Administration died Thursday evening after being struck by a vehicle in a work zone in St. Michaels, according to the SHA and Maryland State Police. John Kenneth Shahan, 40, of Denton, was controlling traffic near the intersection of Saint Michaels and Deep Water Point roads about 1:40 p.m. when he was struck by a 2005 Chrysler Sebring convertible, police said.

  • Florida: Officer Hit by Car Following Traffic Stop

    Authorities say a South Florida police officer was seriously injured when a suspect intentionally hit him after a traffic stop. Boynton Beach police say an officer attempted to pull over a car driven by 26-year-old Byron Harris early Wednesday morning. Instead, police say Harris dumped a bag of white powder out the window and sped off.   • New Hampshire: Police: Drunken Driver Hit Officer While on Phone

    Paige Fagan, 22, of 5 Coburn Woods Road, Rye, was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of controlled drugs, reckless operation, possession of drugs in a motor vehicle and conduct after an accident.
