  • Georgia: Deputy Struck on I-85

    A Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office deputy was struck by a drunk driver Wednesday night, officials said. He is expected to be OK. According to a post on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page, 32-year-old Deputy Justin Lunt was working a part-time job protecting a Department of Transportation work crew on Interstate 85 when his squad car was struck.

  • Massachusetts: New Bedford Police Officer Struck by Car on Detail

    A city police officer was hit by a car while working a detail this morning, but did not require an ambulance, according to police.

  • Maryland State Trooper Injured In Hit-And-Run

    A Maryland state trooper has been injured in a hit-and-run in Prince George's County. Maryland State Police say 30-year-old Cpl. Brian Hirsh was searching a car on the side of Interstate 495 in Greenbelt early Tuesday morning when a car hit him. Maryland State Police say Hirsh is recovering at Prince George's County Hospital.

  • Maryland: Deputy Struck by Truck

    A Clay County deputy suffered only minor injuries when he was hit by a pickup truck Tuesday morning, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office. Investigators said Deputy Daniel Eshelman, an 11-year member of the Sheriff's Office assigned to the agency's Juvenile Crime Unit, was working his normal duties directing traffic at about 7 a.m. at the Oakleaf High School entrance off Plantation Oaks Parkway.

  • Canada: SIRT to Investigate After Officer Struck by Vehicle in Hants County

    Nova Scotia's Serious Incident Response Team has been called on to investigate after a RCMP officer was struck by a vehicle in Hants County Saturday night. Windsor RCMP say the officer was conducting a traffic stop on Wentworth Road, at 6:05 p.m. Sept. 20, when the incident occurred.

  • Ohio: OSHP Needs Help Finding Hit-Skip Driver Who Injured Deputy

  • Wisconsin: Conservation Officer Struck by Car; Suspect Sought

    The Pierce County sheriff's office is looking for a man who struck a Wisconsin conservation officer with a car in the town of Isabelle on Wednesday afternoon. The officer attempted to make contact with the man about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday after seeing him outside a car that was parked facing the wrong direction on 560th Street south of Wisconsin 35.

  • Maryland: Traffic Officer Hit by Car Blocks from Camden Yards

    Police said a civilian Department of Transportation special traffic enforcement officer who was working traffic control was struck by a car going west at Howard and Lombard streets. The victim was taken to a hospital and is said to be in serious condition.

  • Massachusetts: Fitchburg Man Faces OUI Charge After Car Strikes State Police Cruiser

    A Massachusetts State Police trooper was treated and released from a Worcester area hospital after the cruiser in which he was sitting was struck from behind on Interstate 290 on Monday night by an alleged drunk driver from Fitchburg.

  • Missouri: Video: Trooper Struck on I-55 During Traffic Stop

    For the first time, police “dash cam” video of a wreck that injured a Missouri Highway Patrol officer has been made public. The video, obtained by FOX 2, shows Trooper Jeremy Potocki moving the man he pulled over away from the busy shoulder of Interstate 55 moments before a car came tearing into the back of the police vehicle. The move may have saved the lives of both men.
