  • New Jersey: Officer Struck, Dragged By Fleeing Vehicle In Riverside

    A police officer was injured after being struck by a vehicle and then dragged more than 30 feet in Riverside, Burlington County. The incident started around 1:00 a.m. Saturday when police received a call for a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of Riverside Township Elementary School at 120 East Washington Street.

  • Ohio: Officers Injured In Two Separate Crashes Just Outside Columbus

    Three police officers were injured in separate crashes early Friday morning. The first involved a Columbus Police cruiser on Rings Road and Emerald Parkway in Dublin. Dublin Police say around 12:30 a.m., a car drove through red flashing lights, hitting the Columbus Police cruiser. The police sergeant had a yellow flashing light at the time of the crash. The car slammed into the driver’s side door of the cruiser, forcing the sergeant to climb out through the passenger side door. That officer was not injured. About 45 minutes later, a Hilliard Police cruiser was involved in a crash on I-270 Southbound between Tuttle Crossing Boulevard and Cemetery Road. Police say veteran officer Ryan Turner and a recruit in training, Officer Hunter Schweickart were checking the speed of a Jeep, when it came towards them. The Jeep crashed into the cruiser, causing damage to the front end of both vehicles. The two officers suffered minor injuries and were transported to Dublin Methodist Hospital. They were released a few hours later. Police believe the woman driving the Jeep was drunk. She has been identified as 23-year-old Ali Pastorek. She was not injured in the crash.   • Texas: El Paso Officer Struck by Vehicle Saturday Morning

    An El Paso police officer was struck by a vehicle Saturday morning on Interstate 10 East in East El Paso. The officer was off his motorcycle on the side of the interstate near Giles Road at about 9:45 a.m. when he was struck, El Paso Police Department officials said.

  • Virginia: State Trooper Struck During Traffic Stop on I-66

    A Virginia state trooper suffered non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while conducting a traffic stop on westbound Interstate 66 on Tuesday afternoon in Fairfax County, police said. The trooper was standing next to a vehicle shortly after 2 p.m., when a passing vehicle ran off the road and collided with the vehicles stopped on the shoulder, state police said. The trooper was hit during the collision, which occurred just east of the Beltway.   • Virginia: Three State Troopers Are Injured by Vehicles in Three Road Incidents

    Three Virginia state troopers were injured by vehicles Tuesday in three separate crashes, two of them in Northern Virginia, state police said. In one incident, a driver was killed in Suffolk, Va., about 200 miles south of Washington, when his car crashed during a chase, police said.

  • Virginia: State Police Trooper Struck in Arlington

    A second Virginia State Police trooper was struck on a Northern Virginia highway Tuesday, state police said. A trooper was standing next to a vehicle he had stopped for a traffic violation on the shoulder of Interstate 66 in Arlington, just east of the Beltway/Interstate 495, about 2 p.m. Tuesday, when he was struck by a passing vehicle, state police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said in a news release. The passing vehicle ran off the road and collided with the vehicles stopped on the shoulder, striking the trooper in the collision, Geller said.

  • Alabama: Florence Police Officer Hit, Pinned by Truck While Working a Wreck

    According to the Florence Police Department’s Facebook page, an officer is recovering at home this morning after being struck and pinned by a large truck. The accident happened just before midnight on Friday while the officer was working a wreck near the intersection of Highway 20 and County Road 14 in Florence.

  • Alaska: Man Fled Traffic Stop, Struck Nome Officer With Vehicle

    A Nome man faces multiple felony charges, police said, after he struck an officer with his car while fleeing a traffic stop. He was arrested when he ditched the vehicle and attempted to flee again on foot, police said.

  • California: Highway Patrol Vehicle Struck

    The driver of a Mitsubishi Eclipse fled the scene of a crash that sent another car careening into a stopped California California Highway Patrol car on the 10 Freeway in El Monte early Saturday, authorities said.
