United Kingdom: Police pay respects at funeral of officer, struck by stolen car

Hundreds of police officers stood shoulder to shoulder at the funeral of one of their own.

PC Gareth Browning died in April - three years after suffering catastrophic brain injuries when he was hit by a stolen car in Reading.

A police helicopter hovered in salute as the funeral cortege was led through a guard of honour at St Mary's Church in Chieveley.

PC Browning leaves behind twin boys and his wife, Ruth - who said in a statement today that they are all "devastated by his death". Penny Silvester reports.
