South Carolina: Anderson County Citizens Encouraged to Show Support for Fallen Firefighter
Sandy Springs Fire Chief Randy Wilson and Anderson County Fire Chief Jimmy Sutherland are encouraging citizens of the county to show their support for fallen firefighter Kenneth Michael Stanton. Stanton was killed while on duty Sunday night. Funeral services for Stanton will be held Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the Anderson Civic Center. Burial will be at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery immediately following the service.

South Carolina: Update: Arrest Made in South Carolina Firefighter Struck by Car LODD
2015 A man has been charged in a deadly hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a volunteer firefighter in Anderson County last night. The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the fatal crash on US-76 at Sandy Springs Road about 2100 hours. Firefighter Kenneth Stanton of Pendleton, 52, was transported to the hospital for injuries suffered in the wreck. FF Stanton suffered head trauma and succumbed to injuries in the hospital shortly thereafter.

New Hampshire: Safety Officials Urge Drivers To Use Caution After 19 Cruisers Struck
Nearly 20 New Hampshire police cruisers have been struck by other vehicles since Thanksgiving, prompting law enforcement, fire and emergency officials to warn drivers to slow down, move over and be more careful. Col. Robert Quinn with the state police says the 19 crashes are three times the average for the winter season. Oklahoma: Law Enforcement From Around the Country to Attend Trooper's Funeral
The small town of Broken Bow will host a memorial for fallen Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Nicholas Dees at the high school. Dees was hit by a car Saturday while working an accident on Interstate 40 in Seminole County. Law enforcement personnel from around the country are expected to attend this service.

New York: Arrest Made in Trooper Death
Gary R. Blakley, 66, of Ontario, Canada, surrendered on a warrant more than a year after the death of the 35-year-old trooper. On Dec. 16, 2013, Blakley was driving a tractor-trailer that struck Cunniff's marked State Policecar as he conducted a traffic stop on the Thruway in Amsterdam, State Police said. Blakley was charged Tuesday with three felonies — aggravated criminally negligent homicide, aggravated manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide — as well as misdemeanor reckless driving, unsafely moving from a lane, operating over allowed hours and logbook violations.

Arkansas: Conway Officer Remembered
Officer William McGary served nearly two years on the Conway Police force before being killed on duty. On Saturday, family and friends unveiled a sign dedicated to the 26-year-old Officer. The sign is on Dave Ward Drive where McGary was struck by an alleged drunk driver. Mcgary was airlifted to Little Rock Hospital where he later died from his injuries. Conway Police say the sign is to remember McGary and remind drivers to be alert while on the road.

California: Procession Honors Local Tow Truck Driver
Family and coworkers of a tow truck driver who was hit and killed over the weekend held a rolling memorial Wednesday morning to pay tribute to the man. Jabar Issa, a father of three, was struck and killed by a pickup truck Saturday morning while helping a driver fix a flat tire on State Route 78 in San Marcos. He was on the call for his company Sky Towing when the pickup veered off the road and struck him. A second tow truck driver was also seriously injured in the crash. Georgia: Fund Set Up for Firefighter Hit by Pickup Truck
A firefighter struck by a vehicle while on duty in Haralson County on Tuesday evening might not be back on the job for a while. According to troopers with the Georgia State Patrol, Curtis Wilson, 31, responded to a fuel spill in the southbound lanes of Georgia Highway 100 near Interstate 20. They say Wilson was standing in the lane of traffic when he was struck by a pickup truck. He was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center. A fund has been set up to help Wilson, who is a full-time firefighter in Paulding County, but works part time for Haralson County. The funds go through the North American Blue Police & Fire Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) charity, but will go directly to Wilson.

Maryland: Paramedic Erik Steciak Remembered as Intensely Dedicated, Energetic
Friends, family and first responders from across Maryland converged in Howard County Sunday to say goodbye to a fire captain and paramedic killed while responding to an accident in Harford County.It was a solemn farewell full of memories and heartfelt stories about Steciak. Looking out at the crowd of mourners, his twin brother, Daniel Steciak, said it's clear that the first responder touched lives for the better.
