California: San Jose CHP Officer Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Hwy. 101

A California Highway Patrol officer is recovering Saturday after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on U.S. Highway 101 in San Jose on Friday night. Two officers were issuing a traffic ticket along on Highway 101 north of Alum Rock Avenue around 10:40 p.m. when the driver of a silver sedan sideswiped the officers' patrol vehicle and hit one of the officers, according to the CHP.
