  • California: Tow Truck Driver Hit on I-5

    A 41-year-old tow truck driver responding to a crash on Interstate 5 near Encinitas Boulevard was seriously injured early Sunday when he was hit by a car driven by an alleged drunken driver. The unidentified tow truck operator, who worked for RoadOne Towing of San Diego, was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. Information about his condition was not immediately available, but his injuries were not considered life threatening, according to authorities.   • Colorado: State Troopers, Sheriff's Deputy Hit in I-25 Crashes Near Castle Rock

    Two Colorado State Patrol vehicles and a Douglas County Sheriff's deputy cruiser were involved Monday morning in two crashes on Interstate 25 near Castle Rock. As weather and road conditions worsened Monday, Sgt. Rob Madden with the Colorado State Patrol said the first crash was reported at 7:19 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-25 near milepost 179, just south of Castle Rock.     A state police cruiser was struck by another vehicle Friday afternoon while parked in the breakdown lane of I-91 near Exit 33.

  • Florida: Tampa Motorcyclist Charged With DUI After Hitting Patrol Car

    A 58-year-old Tampa man was arrested Saturday night after colliding with a state trooper’s patrol car on a motorcycle, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Shortly before 9 p.m., Louis Anthony Paree was riding a 2002 Harley Davidson on Hillsborough Avenue when he struck the back of the patrol car, which was parked near Montague Street with its emergency lights activated while the trooper investigated a crash, the Highway Patrol said.

  • New Jersey: Two Cliffside Park Special Officers Struck by SUV

    Cliffside Park, New Jersey police say two officers were on foot patrol when they were hit by a car Saturday evening. The incident occurred on Walker Street in Cliffside Park. One officwer was critically injured. The other officer had non-life threatening injuries. Both officers were taken to a local hospital.

  • New York: State Police: Webster Woman Hits Trooper's Car While Driving Drunk

    A Webster woman is facing charges after State Police say she rear-ended a trooper's car while driving drunk. State Police say the trooper was pulled over to the side of the road on Route 104 near Bay Road in Webster just before 11 p.m. Sunday when his car was hit.

  • Montana: Sheriff's Deputy Injured in Interstate Crash

    A Missoula County Sheriff's Deputy suffers from injuries after he was hit by a car on the interstate Sunday afternoon. MCSO officials say the deputy was outside of his vehicle assisting a trooper who was closing the highway near the Wye on I-90. Another vehicle lost control and drove into the deputy's patrol car, causing it to hit him. The deputy was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    A plain-clothed police officer was struck by a vehicle that had been reported as stolen in Toronto's east end on Monday.

  • New York: Suffolk County Police Hunt Man Who Allegedly Struck Police Officer With Truck

    Suffolk County Police want your help finding a Long Island man who they say set fire to his girlfriend’s apartment before hitting a police officer with his truck. Police said the encounter occurred about 2 a.m. Thursday in Brentwood. The suspect is identified as Manuel DeLeon Cuellar. He may be armed with a knife, police said. Cuellar is 24, has a beard, 5’9? and weighs about 175 pounds, police said. He was last

  • North Carolina: One Dead After Multiple Wrecks on Interstate in Mebane

    Cars were backed up for miles on Interstate 40/85 Wednesday from traffic caused by multiple wrecks — including a fatal accident also resulting in injured victims from the State Highway Patrol, Mebane Fire Department and a Greyhound bus. Tiffany Jennings, 33, of High Point was killed after striking three Mebane Fire Department vehicles on the interstate near mile 154 responding to an earlier wreck.
