Virginia: State Trooper Struck During Traffic Stop on I-66

A Virginia state trooper suffered non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while conducting a traffic stop on westbound Interstate 66 on Tuesday afternoon in Fairfax County, police said. The trooper was standing next to a vehicle shortly after 2 p.m., when a passing vehicle ran off the road and collided with the vehicles stopped on the shoulder, state police said. The trooper was hit during the collision, which occurred just east of the Beltway.
