Canada: Fundraiser started for tow truck driver

Friends and family are rallying around a north Kanata tow truck driver as he slowly recovers from a devastating collision that left him in intensive care with numerous injuries on Aug. 26.

A fundraiser to support 45-year-old Abbas Kadir’s slow recovery has begun, with a goal of raising $5,000. So far, $1,690 has been raised as of Sept. 18. The funds will go towards medication and anything else that can help Kadir as he returns to health, said his oldest son, Jon Kadir. “He is out of intensive care, and doing better and better every day. It’s a miracle,” he said.
