(NY)(01-09-2024) Driver charged with manslaughter in crash that kills a road service technician

Dansville, N.Y. — A tractor-trailer driver is facing charges for a deadly crash Tuesday night on Interstate 390 in Livingston County.

New York State Police said just before 11 p.m., two men in a utility vehicle stopped to help a disabled tractor-trailer on the northbound shoulder.

That's when another tractor-trailer, driven by Marwan Bisharat, 55, of Ontario, Canada, struck the crew, according to troopers.

Jason Marshall, 38, of Genesee Falls, Wyoming County, an employee of Marquart Repair and Equipment, was struck and killed.

Timothy Washburn, 18, of Fillmore, Allegany County, was treated at the hospital.

Bisharat is charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving while ability impaired by drugs, and is facing several traffic infractions.
