(FL)(02-11-2024) EMT Struck & Killed at Crash Scene Coming Home from Shift

A 23-year-old EMT with Miami-Dade Ambulance was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Fort Lauderdale, according to reports and the EMT’s family.

Yanaisa Pulido was heading home with her partner after a shift Sunday when they “saw a car accident and decided to stop to help,” family members wrote on a GoFundMe page. “As she was tending to the victim of the crash, another car came from behind and crashed into them both, killing Yanaisa on impact and severely injuring her partner.”

Pulido had completed the Hialeah Fire Cadet program in 2019, according to Local 10 news.

At least two other people were hurt in the chain-reaction crash.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue declared Pulido dead at the scene. The remaining were transported to Broward Health Medical Center.
