Boot Drive Safety Important this Weekend

Think Safety While Helping Jerry's Kids. Firefighters need to wear their high visibility vests when asking motorists to fill the boot. For 50 years dedicated firefighters have participated in the International Association of Fire Fighters drive to cure MD by  asking passing motorists to fill the boot. Unfortunately over the years firefighters have been struck and injured while standing in or near moving traffic.

The CVVFA Emergency Responder Safety Institute reminds all those who are giving their time this weekend on behalf of  Jerry's Kids to be sure they are wearing an ANSI approved high visibility garment.

Firefighters and all those in the roadway are reminded never to turn their back on approaching traffic.

For the rest of us. Make sure you slow down, stop and fill the boot this labor day weekend.
