Illinois Piasa to Honor Fallen Illinois State Police Trooper

The Illinois State Police lost one of their own on November 26, 2012, and a family lost a father, husband, brother, and son, when Trooper Kyle Deatherage, 32, was struck by a tractor trailer while conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 55 near Litchfield, Illinois. He is survived by his two young children and his wife, Sarah. Funeral services were held this past Saturday at Triad High School in Troy, Illinois, where Deatherage attended high school.

Illinois Piasa will honor Trooper Deatherage with a moment of silence prior to the opening kick at their home game on Sunday, December 9 at The Sports Academy in Glen Carbon, Illinois. Kickoff is at 3:35 pm, doors open at 3:00 pm. Piasa will donate 20% of ticket sales from this event to Trooper Deatherage's family for the Kyle W. Deatherage Criminal Justice Scholarship fund and the Kyle Deatherage Memorial Fund.
