Five Officers Die In Struck By Incidents During First Half of 2015

Of the 64 Law Enforcement Officers who died in the line of duty during the first half of 2015, five were struck and killed outside their vehicles according to the National Fallen Law Enforcement Memorial Fund. The Fund’s mid-year report on officer fatalities noted that 30 officers in total died in vehicle related incidents thus far in 2015 making vehicle related the leading cause of officer deaths for the third straight year. The rate increased 20% since 2014.
