Mississippi: 18-wheeler, fire truck wreck slows traffic on I-20 in Jackson

An 18-wheeler accident is blocking a portion of Interstate 20 in Jackson. Around 3 a.m. Monday, an 18-wheeler struck the back of a fire truck at I-20 west at Interstate 220 just before the Robinson Road exit.

Emergency responders were already on the scene for a car fire in the median when the 18-wheeler accident happened, WAPT reported. The driver of the 18-wheeler was conscious when an ambulance transported him to a hospital.

WLBT reports that one victim died in the previous accident. He has been identified as Anthony Boone, 37, of Jackson.

Traffic was backed up while the accident scene is cleared.
