Canada: Police officer struck by vehicle in Bloor West Village

A police officer was rushed to hospital Sunday evening after being struck by a vehicle in the Bloor West Village area. Toronto Paramedics were called to the scene near Bloor St. W and Runnymede Rd. around 5:45 p.m. and transported the officer to hospital with moderate to serious injuries.

According to police, the officer was struck in an area that was closed to traffic for the Toronto West Halloween Fest, which closed Bloor from Runnymede to Jane. It is unclear whether any charges will be laid.

Police shut down the Bloor St./Runnymede Rd. intersection in all directions Sunday evening as they continued to investigate the incident.
