Delaware: Construction worker struck and killed by minivan on I-95

A construction worker placing barrels and signs on I-95 in Wilmington, Delaware has died after being struck by a minivan. Police say the van was traveling at a high rate of speed.

Numerous bystanders tried to help the worker, some performing CPR. The worker was taken to Christiana Hospital where he died of his injuries. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. Monday just south of the Route 202 exit at the Brandywine River Bridge. Police shut down two lanes of I-95 North while they investigated.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene.
