St. Louis Area Towing Operator Struck and Killed

A 21-year-old suspect has been charged after a St. Louis-area tow truck driver was killed in an alleged hit-and-run accident in north St. Louis Monday night. Aaron Bogue was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and property damage. He remains in custody on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

Police said Bogue struck and killed 51-year-old David Bense Sr., who worked for AAA Auto Club, on Interstate 70 near West Florissant while he was putting down safety flares and assisting a stranded motorist. Bense’s wife said he was on his last call of the night and was wearing a safety vest.
