    As a police chase sped down a state highway Saturday morning, a Colorado State Patrol cadet shouted a warning to a tow truck driver to get out of the way. Then, a fleeing Honda barreled through the unrelated accident scene and hit State Patrol Cadet Taylor Thyfault. Thyfault, 21, was killed.

    A crash closed the eastbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike Monday for the second time in just two hours after another vehicle hit a semi involved in the earlier crash.

  • Massachusetts: Tow Truck Driver Killed on Massachusetts Turnpike

    State police have identified the tow truck operator struck and killed while helping a motorist in the breakdown lane of the Massachusetts Turnpike. Police say 22-year-old Kevin St Pierre of Southbridge was pronounced dead at the scene after he was struck by an eastbound box truck at about 3 p.m. Wednesday near exit 10 in Auburn.     Janice Livingston, an paramedic with the West End Ambulance Association was responding to a crash when she was struck and killed by a truck. The crash happened just after 9:30 this morning on Route 271 in Upper Yoder Township between Fender Lane and Meadow Drive.   • South Carolina: Firefighter Struck and Killed on U.S. 17

    Kenneth Stanton, a Firefighter in Sandy Springs (Anderson County) was struck and killed in the Line of Duty this evening, Sunday February 15, 2015. Initial reports are that the crash, on US-17, occurred at around 2100 hours. Stanton, 52, was operating at the scene of a previous crash when he struck by a vehicle. The former Marine and now volunteer Firefighter was immediately treated and transported but succumbed to his injuries.
