    A Freeburg, Illinois officer was injured Friday after being struck by a car. The part-time policeman was directing traffic around a stalled car at West Apple and Sleeping Indian in Freeburg when he was struck. The officer's injuries are not believed to be serious, though he did suffer a broken leg.

  • Tyler, Texas Fire Engine Hit While Working Crash Scene

    A two vehicle accident quickly turned into a much larger wreck involving a fire truck. The accident happened Tuesday around noon in Tyler at the intersection of Broadway and Amherst. Authorities tell us a fire truck had parked near the accident to assist with the scene when a woman clipped the back of it.

  • Arizona Deputy Opens Fire on Man

    A Pinal County Sheriff's deputy opens fire on a man he is trying to pull over late Thursday night in Casa Grande. At about 11:42 p.m., deputies taking part in a DUI task force tried to pull a man over in the area of Gilbert Avenue and 8th Street, but he wouldn't stop his Chevrolet Tahoe.

  • Man Charged In Wisconsin Officer Hit-And-Run Crash

    Charges have been filed against a man that police believe struck and critically injured an officer on Christmas day. Juan Alvarado, 19, has been charged with first degree reckless injury and recklessly endangering safety in a crash that injured Officer Frank Vrtochnick.

    A Pennsylvania State trooper's in the hospital in serious condition with a broken pelvis and internal bleeding after his car was broadsided Thursday by an alleged drunk driver.

    A Pennsylvania State Trooper was seriously injured Thursday when a drunken driver hit his patrol car, police say. The accident happened at about 2 p.m. on U.S. Route 1 between Route 82 and Kennett Square.

  • Stanislaus County, California Sheriff’s Deputy Hit By Car While Collecting Evidence

    A Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Deputy has been hit by a car while investigating a shooting. The accident happened about 6:45 a.m. at Santa Fe Avenue just north of 7th Street in Hughson. A Stanislaus County dispatcher tells CBS13 that the female deputy is a Crime Scene Investigator and she was in the middle of Santa Fe Avenue collecting evidence.

  • Woman Charged in Crash with PA State Trooper

    Shortly before 1:00pm Thursday afternoon, he was rammed by a Chrysler Pacifica driven by Heather Delong of Glen Mills. State Police say his cruiser was parked in a grassy median when it was struck on the driver's side. According to police, Delong was traveling northbound on the US Route 1 bypass near Kennett Square attempting to pass a car on the right when she lost control and plowed into the grass median slamming into the side of the trooper's cruiser.

  • Woman Identified in Wreck with Colorado Fire Truck

    Aurora Police have identified the person who was allegedly at fault in a wreck with a fire truck. One person was taken to the hospital on Wednesday evening after a car went into the path of a fire truck that was responding to a call.

    A tow-truck operator was injured when the vehicle he was picking up drifted backward, running him over.
