(PA)(7-21-2020) Tow Truck Operator Struck & Killed along I-78

BETHEL TOWNSHIP - A tow truck operator from Dauphin County was hit and killed Tuesday while he was responding to a roadside assistance call, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

State police said 29-year-old Tyler Laudenslager, of Halifax, was pronounced dead at the scene on Interstate 78 in Bethel Township, Berks County. Tyler worked for H&S Towing and was a volunteer firefighter at Halifax Fire Department.

Troopers said a vehicle rear-ended a commercial vehicle in the left lane around 6:15 p.m., then traveled across the right lane and hit Laudenslager, who was on the shoulder of the road. The vehicle then struck the tow truck, state police said.
