SARALAND, Ala. (WPMI) — According to Saraland Police, on December 13, 2021, at approximately 08:50 a.m. the Saraland Police Department Patrol Division and Traffic Homicide Unit responded to Interstate 65 and Mile Marker 12 for a traffic crash.

40-year-old Jonathan Neesmith from Eight Mile, Alabama, was on the shoulder of northbound Interstate 65, attempting to load a disabled vehicle onto a tow truck.

Jonathan Neesmith was struck by another vehicle also heading northbound on Interstate 65.

Jonathan Neesmith was transported to University Hospital where he was later announced deceased.
