A Hill County firefighter has been killed on the job over the weekend.

Abbott Volunteer Fire Department firefighter Horace Dan Wright was struck by a fire truck while working the scene of a stranded driver on I-35. He died Friday night at the hospital.

Wright's death comes a little over two weeks after a firefighter from the West Volunteer Fire Department died under similar circumstances. Edward Hykel died when he was struck by a driver while working an I-35 accident.
