(MA) Massachusetts corporal identified as victim fatally struck by car trying to help motorist on I-95
A corporal with the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department was identified as the victim who was killed Monday in a crash on Interstate 95 southbound in Boxford, Massachusetts, the department confirmed Monday.
The crash happened just after 8:30 p.m. near mile marker 74 in Boxford. The pedestrian, later identified as Corporal Brett Martin, 51, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.
According to the sheriff's department, Martin was trying to help a stranded motorist when he was hit by an oncoming car.
