Maryland: State trooper struck by truck outside Queen Anne on Eastern Shore
A Maryland State Police trooper was being treated for injuries sustained Friday night when he was struck by a vehicle while assisting with the arrest of an armed robbery suspect in Queen Anne’s County, state police said.
First Sgt. John Beville, a 14-year-veteran of the Maryland State Police assigned to the Special Operations Division, was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he is being treated for what are reported to be not life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved was identified as Randall Cox, 62, of Glen Burnie. He was not injured. On Friday afternoon and evening, police in the area of Talbot and Queen Anne’s counties were on the lookout for four suspects wanted in connection with a 2 p.m. armed robbery in Easton. By 7 p.m., two of the suspects had been apprehended and two remained at large.
