Michigan: Dearborn police officer hit by car while investigating hookah lounge shooting
A Dearborn police officer was hit by a car Saturday morning while investigating a shooting at a hookah lounge,according to a report from WDIV-TV. The shooting happened at an establishment near Warren Avenue and Chase Road. The officer was directing traffic near the scene when he was struck. He was taken to a nearby hospital and later released, the report said.

Iowa: Crossing guard struck by car in North Liberty
A crossing guard is injured after being struck by a car. North Liberty police say it happened at the intersection of North Stewart and Penn streets. No children were involved in the incident. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the accident, which remains under investigation. The driver of the car was not hurt.
