Georgia: Failure to follow move-over law leads to woman’s arrest

Sai Nikitha Kammari, 19, of Lawrenceville, was arrested Wednesday after police stopped her car on the Athens Perimeter for violating the so-called move-over law and subsequently found she was driving while her license was suspended.

While one officer was with a motorist who was pulled over for a traffic violation, another officer monitored traffic for violations of the law which requires motorists to change lanes away from emergency vehicles on the side of the road. Police said Kammari’s car was stopped for violating the law on the perimeter near the Nellie B Avenue overpass. She reportedly had no idea why police had stopped her.
