Wyoming: Natrona County Sheriff's Office reminds of Move Over/Pull Over law

The Natrona County Sheriff's Office deputies have reported close calls with passing vehicles during traffic stops this weekend. They are asking for the public's help in keeping law enforcement and emergency medical personnel safe by yielding to emergency vehicles and heeding Wyoming's Move Over/Pull Over law.

The law requires drivers to yield the right-of-way to emergency vehicles, move as close to the right side of road as possible and remain there until the emergency vehicle has passed. When driving on an interstate or highway, merge into the lane farthest from the emergency vehicle. When traveling on a two-lane road, drivers must reduce speed 20 miles per hour less than posted speed limit when passing an emergency vehicle.
