Law Enforcement Near Miss

Initiated by the Police Foundation in 2013, LEO Near Miss is a near miss reporting system for law enforcement officers that enables them to share their near-miss stories and the lessons learned from them to prevent fellow officers from being injured or killed. Reports are reviewed by subject matter experts prior to publication and any identifying information is removed. In addition to reporting a near miss, web site visitors can browse reports by category and by tag. Officer safety resources are also available on the site. LEO Near Miss is modeled on the International Association of Fire Chiefs' (IAFC) near miss reporting program, and is funded by the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Office at the Department of Justice.

Report a Near Miss Click Here joins the Police Foundation in encouraging all law enforcement officers to report near miss and struck by incidents. These reports contribute to the body of knowledge about how and why these incidents occur, which enables us to learn how to prevent them in the future.
