(SC) Wrecker service speaks out after worker killed by semi-truck on Hilton Head Island

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 1:49 p.m. 9/26/2025] Rahn’s Wrecker Service has shared a message on social media announcing the death of Floyd Crespo, who was killed by a semi-truck on Hilton Head on September 25, 2025.

“Approximately 2:45pm yesterday, Floyd was completing a trailer lift that was hung up on a curb in Hilton Head Island,” the post reads.

According to Rahn’s Wrecker Service, “Floyd pulled his wrecker out of the roadway to open the roadway back up and was standing at his control compartment rolling in the cables when the truck he had just recovered went down to the roundabout and turned around and attempted to turn back into the parking lot side swiping the wrecker and pinning Floyd between the wrecker and the trailer and killing him.”

“Contrary to the local news reports of a ‘Pedestrian Being Hit By Semi’ on yesterday, this was not the case.” Rahn’s Wrecker Service says, “This is another case of ‘SLOW DOWN & MOVE OVER’.”
