(NJ) Hit-and-run crash kills 20-year-old on side of N.J. interstate, police say
A Pennsylvania man was killed Thursday morning on Interstate 80 in Warren County while servicing a tractor trailer, officials with the New Jersey State Police said.
State police responded to a stretch of I-80 in Frelinghuysen Township at 6:37 a.m. for a report of a crash and found that Ethan Schultz, 20, of Bangor, Pennsylvania, suffered fatal injuries after being hit by a commercial truck, authorities said.
According to investigators, Schultz’s car was parked in front of a disabled tractor trailer in the right shoulder when he approached the truck on the driver’s side, police said. He was then hit by a white commercial vehicle which also struck the driver’s side door of the tractor trailer before leaving the scene.
