Baltimore County County Engine #2 Struck for 4th Time

At approximately 22:15 on the evening of Wednesday, December 10 Baltimore County Fire Department Engine 2 (Pikesville) responded to a reported automobile accident

with auto fire on the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) by the Northwest Expressway (I-795) exit.   After blocking the shoulder and fast lane, part of the crew from Engine 2 checked occupants of the vehicles involved for injuries while other crew were placing flares when a young driver who failed to see the engine drove straight into the side of it.  Fortunately, there were no injuries due to this secondary incident, though the driver just narrowly missed several of Engine 2's crew.  This is the fourth time that Engine 2 has been struck in seven years.  (Photo courtesy of Baltimore County Fire Dept.)
