  • Grant Helps Ohio Fire Department Improve Highway Safety Capability

    The Zoar Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) recently completed a major upgrade to enhance their operational capabilities and improved firefighter safety at roadway incidents courtesy of a grant from the Reeves Foundation of Dover. The FD was awarded a $5,500 grant in May that allowed for the purchase of traffic control equipment and reflective material for upgrades to the to the department’s fleet of two pumpers, brush truck and utility/water rescue truck.

  • Fire Grant Expands ResponderSafety Learning Network (RSLN)

    The ResponderSafety Learning Network will expand thanks to a $396,000 grant from the FEMA Fire Prevention and Safety Grant Program. The free program adds more tested modules to the already established network and will cover material from the draft NFPA 1091 and SHRP II projects

  • Funeral Held for Missouri Tow Truck Driver Killed While Helping Stranded Driver

    A funeral was held Saturday morning for the 18-year-old who was killed while helping a stranded driver in Kansas City. Blake Gresham died Monday after being hit by a truck while securing the woman's vehicle to his tow truck on an interstate bridge in Kansas City.
