North Carolina: Remembrance: Sheriff's Office Memorializes Deputy Killed on Duty in 1934

More than 80 years after an Alamance County sheriff’s deputy was fatally struck by a car while walking down the road during an investigation, the sheriff’s office held a memorial service for him Wednesday — a gesture the sheriff said wasn’t done when George Jefferson Massey died in 1934.
