The Emergency Responder Safety Institute Releases Video Highlighting New Retrofitted Technology for Traffic Units

Emergency Responder Safety Institute representatives are often asked how to properly retrofit an existing apparatus or outfit a new vehicle with safety technologies. The ERSI also often hears budget concerns when discussing new technologies. The ERSI has always been on the forefront of evaluating and promoting emergency vehicle technologies that improve safety during roadway incident response, so the ERSI saw an opportunity to demonstrate how to retrofit an existing traffic unit with cost-effective new technologies that protect personnel and vehicles working on the roadway.

In cooperation with Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Co. of Newark, DE and with the support of the manufacturers who made their technologies available, the ERSI retrofitted Traffic 9 with six proven or promising technologies that are simple to install and cost-effective. In the video New Retrofitted Technology for Traffic Units, ERSI Assistant Director of Training Todd Leiss gives you a tour of Traffic 9, highlighting its innovative technologies and their benefit to responder safety.

The technologies featured in the New Retrofitted Technology for Traffic Units video are:
