Indiana Sheriff's Office Fined for Not Providing Vests

The Associated Press is reporting that the Monroe County Indiana Sherriff’s Office may be fined in the death of Deputy Sarah Jones who was struck and killed while directing traffic on October 17 near Bloomington. Jones, 27, was not wearing a reflective vest when she was struck by a sport-utility vehicle. Indiana OSHA can levy a $4500 fine for what they term a “serious violation”. The Sheriff’s Office has reportedly now ordered 180 new vests for their deputies.
